Dack Rambo

Dack Rambo born 13 November 1941 (d. 1994)

Norman 'Dack' Rambo was an American actor, most notable for appearing as cousin Jack Ewing on Dallas.

He also appeared as Walter Brennan's grandson Jeff in the TV Series The Guns Of Will Sonnett, and as Grant Harrison on the NBC soap opera Another World. He also starred on All My Children and in the Gunsmoke spin-off, Dirty Sally.

He complained about industry prejudice against gay men and said the role he took in 1985 as Jack Ewing on the primetime drama Dallas began to shrink because he was single and suspected of being gay. Rambo described himself as bisexual.

He had a twin brother, Dirk Rambo, also a television actor, who died in 1967 in a road accident, killed by a drunk driver.

In 1991, Rambo quit his role in Another World after saying he was infected with the AIDS virus. He said going public with his condition was 'like freedom to me'.

Rambo campaigned for AIDS awareness until his death on March 21, 1994, aged 52, due to complications from AIDS. He was buried with his twin.
